Raubenheimer was inside the residence when he noticed the suspects and immediately ran through the house to warn his mother, who was in another room. As he selflessly shouted to alert her of the danger, the robbers opened fire, shooting him at close range. He died instantly from his injuries before the criminals fled the property.
