✝
Jacobs Annemarie
15 August 2006 · Robin Acres, Johannesburg · Gauteng · Beaten
The attack took place at approximately 4:00 AM after intruders broke a lounge window to gain access to the property while the elderly couple was asleep in the main bedroom. Upon hearing the break-in, Peter Jacobs confronted the intruders and managed to fire a single defensive shot. The attackers immediately overpowered him, grabbing a heavy wooden elephant carving that stood next to the front door, and used it to bludgeon him to death. They then attacked his wife, Annemarie, in the passage of the home, bludgeoning her to death in the exact same violent manner. Their bodies were discovered later that Sunday afternoon by their daughter-in-law and grandson when the family arrived at the house for a scheduled lunch and noticed the front door wide open.
