Mc Neil Robert

2 May 2005 · Bronkhortspruit farm, Bronkhorstspruit · Gauteng · Beaten
During a violent farm invasion, a group of four men ambushed Robert McNeill and brutally beat him with a heavy wheel spanner. A neighbor managed to rush the severely injured farmer to the hospital. According to judicial and forensic records, he suffered severe head trauma and tragically passed away the following day due to internal medical complications triggered by the extreme stress of the assault.During the exact same incident, the attackers also kidnapped and severely assaulted another individual on the property, Pieter de Beer. They forced De Beer to drive them away in his own vehicle loaded with stolen household goods before dumping him on the side of a road. Following a high-profile trial in the Pretoria High Court, three men—Joseph Kobele, Antonie Sithole, and Joseph Sithole—were convicted in August 2008 for the murder and robbery of McNeill, as well as the kidnapping and assault of De Beer. Crucial forensic fingerprint evidence left on a television set at the scene tied the perpetrators directly to the crime.
