Khuzwayo Menzi

18 August 2015 · Farm near Hiberdene · KwaZulu-Natal · Shot
Menzi Khuzwayo was a thirty-four-year-old tractor-loader-backhoe (TLB) operator who was murdered in August 2015 after being hijacked for his vehicle. His body was discovered tied up with a gunshot wound to the head dumped in a sugar cane plantation on a farm near Hibberdene along the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The crime was uncovered when a thirty-one-year-old Umzumbe municipal employee attempted to sell the stolen heavy machinery to an undercover police agent during a sting operation in Sea Park. The private vehicle was subsequently impounded by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, and the municipal worker was arrested and charged with the murder.
