Harmzen Christina Johanna "Chrissie"

Chrissie was a 70 year old grandmother that suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis. The incident occurred broad daylight at approximately 11:00. She had stepped barely five steps outside the back door of the house that she and her husband, Johan Harmzen, had rented for ten years. A sadist attacker ambushed her and repeatedly struck her over the head and face with a blunt object. The assault was so vicious that her lungs burst. During the assault, she managed to press her security panic button, which alerted her husband, but her injuries proved fatal, and she was declared brain dead later that day at Midmed Hospital in Middelburg. Three of her Jack Russell terrier dogs climbed on top of her body after the attack, fiercely guarding her from anyone attempting to approach.Only her cellphone, the keys to the back door, and the panic button were stolen, while the house itself was left completely untouched, leading her family to conclude that the motivation was pure murder rather than robbery.
