The perpetrators utilized heavy, edged agricultural hand tools to orchestrate the assault, systematically hacking and chopping William Desmond Cloete to death. He sustained multiple severe, catastrophic lacerations across his body and was left heavily mutilated from the sheer force of the axing. Due to the extent of the physical trauma and deep wounds inflicted during the localized onslaught, he died directly at the scene inside his homestead.
