Bentley Hendrik "Hennie"

Age 73. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, August 6, 2013, when a group of four armed men rushed into the family home where he had lived for twenty-five years without prior incidents. The attackers immediately began firing shots and brutally assaulting the occupants. The criminal group carried a firearm, a slingshot, and a sock filled with stones to execute the ambush. During the violent confrontation, the perpetrators severely bludgeoned him and shot him in the chest. His fifty-four-year-old son, George Bentley, also sustained a skull fracture after being beaten over the head by the robbers during the assault. The attackers fled the property with cash, jewelry, and firearms. Following the attack, he was rushed to the Emfuleni MediClinic in Vanderbijlpark, where he ultimately succumbed to his critical injuries and died on Friday, August 9, 2013.
