He lived alone on his plot where he was targeted, ambushed, and overpowered by a group of criminal intruders. The attackers subjected him to a violent ordeal and tortured him before inflicting a fatal gunshot wound to his head. Following the execution of the assault, the assailants loaded his body into his own pick-up van and drove the vehicle approximately 15 kilometers away from his homestead. They then deliberately set the pick-up van alight with his body inside it before fleeing the secondary scene.
