Meyer Cornelius

Cornelius Meyer was there with Hampie van Niekerk, aged 65, and Hampie’s wife Marie, aged 59. The three were attacked and assaulted. While Hampie and Marie survived after suffering serious head injuries and being left for dead Meyer was rushed to hospital but did not survive. Following the severe blunt-force trauma he sustained during the attack on 7 September 1999, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He survived the initial confrontation but ultimately succumbed to his severe injuries, with his official date of death being recorded a week later on September 14, 1999, inside the hospital.
