Age 59. The attack was discovered in a highly unusual and gruesome manner following a mysterious phone tip-off routed to the nearby Modderrivier police station at approximately 3:00 AM. When officers arrived at the smallholding to investigate the premises, they discovered that the retired engineer had been stabbed 35 times across his chest and his back. The killers had thrown his frozen meat out of a large chest freezer and stuffed his body completely inside it. In a deeply unsettling twist, evidence at the crime scene revealed that after stuffing his body in the freezer, the killers proceeded to cook and eat his food inside the kitchen.
