Van Wyk Jacobus "Cobus"

Age 69. Around 10:30 PM on that Friday night, an alarm system on the property was triggered. Cobus van Wyk and his son, Werner van Wyk, went outside the house together to investigate the disturbance. They were ambushed near a farm fence by three intruders who immediately opened fire on them. Real-time news updates and emergency services reported that Cobus van Wyk had been shot to death in the hail of bullets. However, a formal post-mortem examination performed days later by state pathologists conclusively overturned this assumption, confirming that Cobus van Wyk had actually suffered a fatal heart attack brought on by the sudden terror, shock, and extreme stress of the armed confrontation. The three armed suspects fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting
