Krull Shaun Brett

Krull Shaun Brett

20 September 2019 · Farm Mitchell's Bon, East London · Eastern Cape · Stabbed
Age 48. The attack was planned by three perpetrators who borrowed money and hitchhiked from Qonce (King William's Town) to East London specifically to execute a robbery at the property. One of the perpetrators, Zolani Losi, was a 26-year-old cattle herder who had previously worked for the farmer and had been fired shortly before the incident. The trio targeted Shaun Brett Krull while he was out patrolling the farm. They ambushed and overpowered him in a grazing field near the feedlot, where they stabbed him three times to death. After inflicting the fatal wounds, the attackers took his cellphone and wallet. They then proceeded to the farmhouse, unlocked the safe, and stole R10,000 cash alongside a firearm and ammunition. The perpetrators fled the scene using the farmer's white bakkie and drove to Middledrift, where they used the stolen money to purchase alcohol. Farmworkers discovered his body the following morning, Friday, September 20, 2019.Eastern Cape provincial police launched a rapid response and tracked the stolen bakkie to an open field near Middledrift on Saturday morning, September 21, 2019. Following intensive local investigations, all three suspects were arrested over that weekend. The perpetrators were identified as Zolani Losi, Vizicelo Wokisi, and Xhanti Ndingane. The legal proceedings were finalized through the East London High Court. Xhanti Ndingane co-operated with the authorities and pleaded guilty to the charges, leading the court to depart from the minimum prescribed sentence and hand him a 28-year prison term in July 2021. His co-accused, Vizicelo Wokisi (27) and Zolani Losi (26), pleaded not guilty but were found guilty on all counts, including murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. On January 20, 2022, Acting Judge Rosaan Kruger sentenced both Wokisi and Losi to life imprisonment for the murder, alongside concurrent sentences of 15 years for armed robbery, 7 years for firearm possession, and 5 years for illegal ammunition.
