Burger Johanna "Hannie"

Age 59. The victim and her husband, Ernst Burger, were overpowered inside their farm shop on the night of Saturday, September 26, 2003, by an attacking group. Both victims were severely beaten and bludgeoned until they lost consciousness. The husband later regained consciousness and managed to telephone a neighbor for emergency assistance at approximately 22:00. The victim sustained critical trauma, fell into a coma, and was transported to Tygerberg Hospital in Parow, where she succumbed to her injuries of a crushed skull and severe head injuries from blunt force bludgeoning.
