✝
Roux Wallace Pieter
18 October 1994 · Farm Kromdraai, Witbank · Mpumalanga · Shot
Age 40. The nightmare began under the guise of an ordinary business transaction when a gang of three armed men arrived at the farmstead. The individuals approached Wallace Pieter Roux and deceitfully pretended that they were customers who were genuinely interested in purchasing milk from his farm operations. This ruse successfully defused any immediate suspicion, allowing the group to close the physical distance between them and the farmer. Without warning, the encounter turned execution-style as all three men suddenly pulled out concealed handguns and opened fire on him at close range. Wallace Pieter Roux was shot dead instantly, sustaining catastrophic bullet wounds directly above his right eye, as well as to his chest and his stomach. Following the fatal shooting, the killers ransacked him, robbed the premises, and fled the scene into the night.
The cold-blooded murder sent profound shockwaves through the regional agricultural community of Witbank and was officially cataloged in early security indexes as incident number 462 within the historical farm attack archive Treurgrond, also known as the Land of Sorrow.
