Conradie Joubert

Age 47. On the morning of Tuesday, October 24, 2017, Conradie was inside his home on the Uitkyk farm near Stellenbosch in the Western Cape when he heard an unusual noise. Upon going to investigate, he was ambushed and shot by three armed intruders who had broken into the residence. He was shot 8-10 times with various guns. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting without stealing significant belongings. Conradie was rushed to the Stellenbosch Mediclinic in critical condition, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later. His death marked the fourth violent attack on a Western Cape farm within that month alone, escalating existing fears and frustrations within the local agricultural community.
