Groenewald Juan Paul "J.P."

Age 28. On Monday, September 30, 2019, a tragic and violent farm dispute claimed the life of Juan Paul "J.P." Groenewald on an agricultural property located in Wellington in the Western Cape province. The fatal incident unfolded following an altercation that erupted between J.P. Groenewald and a fellow farm worker. In the heat of the confrontation, the perpetrator grabbed a heavy garden tool and violently attacked him.The forensic and medical details reveal that he was stabbed directly in the eye with a garden fork. He was rushed in critical condition to Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town for emergency medical intervention. Despite the efforts of the medical staff to treat the severe penetrating head trauma, he succumbed to his horrific brain and eye injuries later that same day.
