Van Greunen Willem André

Age 47. During the incident, three armed men breached the property and ambushed him inside his home. The suspects opened fire, and Willem André van Greunen was shot in the stomach and his right elbow. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he managed to draw his own firearm and return fire at his attackers, shooting one of the suspects in the upper thigh. The other two perpetrators fled the scene. Paramedics and police were summoned to the farm, but the wounded suspect, identified as Emmanuel Sibiya, died on the property while receiving emergency medical attention. Willem André van Greunen was rushed to the Dihlabeng Regional Hospital in serious condition. He ultimately succumbed to his gunshot wounds and died in the hospital.
