Rhadebe Robert

30 August 2015 · Farm Silo, Harrismith · Free State · Stabbed
Age 67. Robert was a dedicated farm manager who had lived and worked on the property since birth, raising eight children there. (though some crime logs index it on August 30 when the details were fully processed). Two men arrived at the door pretending they wanted to buy wood from Rhadebe's sideline timber business. Once the door opened, the suspects ambushed Rhadebe and his wife, Martha, tying them up. The attackers were motivated by robbery, knowing Rhadebe held cash from his wood sales and a recent cattle transaction. They dragged the injured manager into a separate room while ransacking the property.Robert Rhadebe died from multiple severe stab wounds inflicted during the initial ambush. His wife survived the assault despite sustaining stab wounds to her hands, later managing to untie herself and crawl to a neighboring house to sound the alarm.
