Swanepoel Jan Andries Petrus

During the assault, Swanepoel was shot to death, and his 46-year-old wife, Thea Swanepoel, was severely assaulted by the intruders. The couple's two children who were present inside the home—their 15-year-old daughter Hanja and their 9-year-old son Erno—escaped physical injury during the attack.
