Strauss Ivan

The nightmare began while Ivan was traveling in a pick-up van, or bakkie, across the farm property accompanied by sixty-eight-year-old Johan George Abrahams Stadler. Without warning, a group of armed attackers ambushed the vehicle, overpowering both men. The criminals subjected them to an aggressive assault. They tied Johan Stadler to a tree, beat him, and shot him in the foot before robbing them of their belongings. Instead of fleeing the scene immediately, the attackers turned their focus entirely toward the younger man, kidnapping Ivan Strauss and forcing him away from the farmstead. Despite immediate mobilization and subsequent extensive search operations conducted by local authorities and the farming community across the semi-arid Keimoes terrain, Ivan Strauss was never found.
