Age 81. A group of approximately six attackers invaded the property while Kritzinger was outside tending to his chicken coops. He was bound with wire by his feet and suffered severe head injuries, dying on the dining room floor. His 77-year-old wife, Sarie Kritzinger, was severely beaten during the home invasion but survived the assault. The attackers ransacked the home and fled with stolen items, including a firearm belonging to the couple.Regarding arrests, the South African Police Service deployed a district task team and arrested a 37-year-old suspect named Andries Komane Sello at his home in the Marikana informal settlement near Cullinan. Police recovered the victims' stolen firearm and other property in his possession.Regarding convictions, Sello subsequently appeared in the Cullinan Magistrate's Court, where he abandoned his bail application while facing charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and possession of stolen property. The criminal case remains pending in court, and no formal convictions have been finalized for the remaining suspects.
