Mostert Johannes "Mossie"

Marthinus "Mossie" Mostert was eighty-four years old when he was murdered following a violent farm attack on the evening of Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his smallholding inside the Buffelsdrift Eco Park and Nature Conservation Area, located in the Roodeplaat area northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng. The attack occurred at approximately 20:10 after at least four intruders bypassed security measures to overpower him outside his home, where they assaulted him severely in the face, tied him up with wire, and stabbed him with a sharp object while searching the house. Community members and his son-in-law transported him in a private vehicle along the rough dirt roads to meet the responding ambulance half-way, and although emergency personnel managed to stabilize him initially, his condition deteriorated rapidly and he was declared dead shortly after arriving at the Montana Hospital.Regarding convictions and sentencing, there are no recorded arrests, convictions, or sentences finalized for the murder of Marthinus Mostert.
