Theunissen Jacobus Petrus "Boet"

Age 74. The attack unfolded at his rental property located on a smallholding in the Rashoop area, situated just outside Brits in the North West province. The property where he lived is located directly adjacent to an informal settlement known locally as Tin City. Because he lived by himself in a cottage on the smallholding, he was unable to alert security networks or call out for emergency assistance during the intrusion. Armed perpetrators breached the security of his home and shot him dead, after which they ransacked the property. The assailants fled the crime scene with his personal firearm, a .38 Special revolver. His body was discovered on Saturday morning by his son, who had traveled to the smallholding to check on his father.
