Unnamed Security Guard

13 July 2026 ยท Farm Berlin, Letsitele ยท Limpopo
An unnamed seventy-nine-year-old male security guard was found murdered on Monday, July 13, 2026, following a violent business robbery on a plot at Berlin Farm within the Letsitele policing area of the Limpopo province. The South African Police Service responded to a complaint at approximately nine-twenty-five in the morning and discovered his body lying on the ground. During the fatal encounter, the attackers subdued the elderly guard and used white cable ties to securely bind his hands and feet. Emergency Medical Services personnel dispatched to the property examined the victim and officially certified him dead at the crime scene. Official police records document that the deceased was found dressed in black tracksuit trousers, a brown jacket, a white T-shirt, blue socks, and a black woolen hat. The primary motive for the intrusion was the theft of industrial equipment, and preliminary investigations established that the perpetrators targeted a blue 10.5-horsepower three-phase diesel generator valued at approximately fifty-six thousand rand. The thieves used physical force to rip the generator away from a structural pole where it had been locked and secured with a metal chain and a padlock. Following an intensive investigation by local detectives, the South African Police Service successfully tracked down and arrested three male suspects aged between twenty and twenty-six in connection with the crime. Investigating officers successfully recovered the stolen generator during the arrests and booked the suspects to appear before the Ritavi Magistrate's Court on criminal charges of murder and business robbery.
