Ramabele Mohlolo

6 December 2024 · Goedemoed, Rouxville · Free State · Tortured
Age 2. The sequence of events began when the toddler's twenty-one-year-old aunt, Mmaditaba Ramabele, abducted her nephew from Reddersburg under the false pretense of a family visit. While traveling toward Goedemoed, her boyfriend, Tebello Lucas Ntomane—also known as Lucas Skaarnek—launched a vicious assault on the toddler, repeatedly punching and kicking the child. Mohlolo Ramabele died from severe blunt force trauma injuries resulting from the beating. The couple then wrapped the boy's body in a blue curtain and abandoned his remains on a rural property in the Goedemoed district before continuing their criminal spree.Days later, on 7 December 2024, the couple and three other accomplices orchestrated a bloody invasion at Charlspost Farm in Rouxville. The farm tenant, Jaco van Wyk, walked outside to check on a water pump when the criminals ambushed him and shot him fatally in the head. The gang then stormed the house, took his wife hostage, subjected her to rape, and robbed the home. They tied the widow up, forced her into the couple's Mahindra utility vehicle along with stolen goods, and fled. Alert local farmers spotted the vehicle and notified the police, sparking a high-stakes pursuit.Law enforcement intercepted the vehicle at a roadblock near Tierpoort. During the confrontation, the primary attacker, Tebello Lucas Ntomane, resisted arrest and was fatally shot by the police. The police successfully rescued the kidnapped widow and arrested Mmaditaba Ramabele alongside three other suspects found in the vehicle. While in custody, a heavily remorseful Ramabele confessed to the Anti-Gang Unit about her role in the farm attack and subsequently exposed the hidden location of her nephew's body. In February 2026, the Bloemfontein High Court concluded a plea agreement where Mmaditaba Ramabele was convicted and sentenced to 30 years of effective imprisonment after pleading guilty to kidnapping, two counts of murder, two counts of rape, aggravated robbery, and the illegal possession of firearms.
